Consistent with CDC guidelines on social gatherings, the Navy has decided not to hold an in-person open house meeting due to COVID-19. The Navy is committed to keeping our neighbors informed of the drinking water well investigation around NAS Whiting Field and its associated outlying landing fields in Florida and Alabama and will host a Virtual Open House to keep the public informed. This Virtual Open House platform reflects the Navy’s commitment to keeping the community informed, even with the current limitations to in-person meetings. You can find out if your property is in the designated sampling areas using the “Find My Property” and if it is, request sampling of your drinking water well.
Captain Paul Flores
Welcome and thank you for your interest in the PFAS Drinking Water Well Investigation. This video is designed to be a summary of several topics related to the investigation including information about the Navy’s PFAS sampling policy, on-base PFAS investigation, current off-base drinking water well investigation, PFAS and potential health effects, and lastly the upcoming sampling process and timeline. This video provides an overview for outlying landing fields located in Florida and specific information for each of the outlying landing fields can be found at the links below. Thank you for understanding as we use the online forum as an alternative to an in-person open house meeting, due to COVID-19 concerns.
Additional information is provided at these links for each of the outlying landing fields located in Alabama. These pages include a project factsheet and an overview of the sampling area and how it was determined for each outlying landing field.
